Most people in Melbourne know MoVida (it’s here on Qype too). It’s known to be posh, but looks more like a swanky Spanish villa with exposed concrete and tile areas. The posh bit is the cost of the nosh.
So the clever beans behind this Spanish Tapas themed restaurant decided to open a more casual, more traditional, tight spaced, cheaper, sister next door, called? MoVida Next Door. Cue multiple confusing conversations:
“Where are you going tonight?”
“MoVida Next Door”
“Oh, what’s next door to MoVida?”
“MoVida Next Door” etc etc etc
How ever, it is worth the slap stick to settle in with some fancy bottle beers, fine wine and kick ass tapas. Oyster shucked to order served with a cava jelly, oven baked scallop with jamon and potato foam, char-grilled octopus with paprika potatoes… and on and on. I was full and reasonably astounded at the perfect of each tiny plate- little works of art in my opinion.
So, who cares what’s next door to MoVida Next Door?
