Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh

EdinburghArts & EntertainmentParks

Here’s my top all weather/seasons guide for the Princes Street Gardens:

1. Sun baking in the summer. No the bikini version, but it is funny to see the whiter than white chicks with their orange fakey layer at the start of summer. No I mean picnic style, a bit of take out and a blanket and a friend and relax. Guaranteed you will see a a hoard of people you know doing the same thing!

2. Watching the daffodils bloom. This takes a while obviously, but to stop and appreciate the view of the castle littered in yellow topped flowers in Spring is so stunning.

3. Listening to Live music in the festival. There are a number of shows during the festival, some free others not, using the stage it the gardens. I have great memories of listening to The Killers by parking off nearby, outside the allocated area, and listening, laying on the grassy slope.

4. German Christmas markets meander. Every Nov/Dec the German Christmas Markets take over a section of the gardens to bring you great food, ice skating, and a big ass Ferris wheel. As festive as it gets!
