Famine Sculpture in Dublin

DublinArts & EntertainmentLandmarks

The Irish sculpture Rowan Gillespie created these sculptures to be situated as if they are off to board the emigration boats in Custom House Quays. They have haunting and pitched faces, stricken and walking as if struggling against the wind.
These are worth the walk from town, for the emotional reaction to some very poignant history in a city that is careful not to forget.
