London

Founders Arms, London

I’ve been a couple of times for a beer recently, and all I can think is when was it dropped from the plane? It clearly couldn’t have been designed to sit along such a beautiful and busy thoroughfare, nestled beside the Tate Modern looking like that, could it?
Food is generous, if not quite pub styled (but it’s a chain isn’t it?) and drinks were averaged priced. The bit that gets me about places like this is that they have a perfect location and it’s wasted on them. No table service? Why not? You get a sunny spot on an unmoveable bench over looking the Thames and then you have to leave to get a drink? Silly.
Sillier still that the staff are bunched in clusters around the pass chatting and waiting for food to arrive, unable or unwilling to help out the bar staff who are clearly doing most of the work.
Pull your socks up and take advantage of such an amazing setting!
