The Rocks in Sydney

There has been a serious to and fro to keep buildings in this area in their current state, finally ending in the 1970’s with a local group banding together to have the area preserved.
Thank God for that!
This is the oldest area of Sydney, the first settlement of 1978 occurred on this area, and some of the historical houses are the oldest in Australia.
It is well worth doing a tour of this area, so most of Australia’s rich history is presented here in some way. Part of what is represented in this area is Aboriginal art, convict’s stone work, shipping bays, free settlers houses, all of which are a short walking distance from each other.
Stick around afterwards and explore the tourist shops or have a drink and amazing seafood on the shore right below the Harbour Bridge.
Picture perfect.
