The Gap

SydneyArts & EntertainmentParks

The Gap is infamous amongst Sydneysiders… it’s the place you drive to at 5:30am after a long Friday night in order to see the sunrise. It the lookout point you go to when you’re wondering if the storm way out at sea is coming in (trust me on this one, if there is an electrical storm then more often than not it says out there and provides some amazing entertainment). It’s the place you bring tourists so that they can see the very edge of Sydney and wander a tiny thicket of scrub and play ‘going bush’.
I spend many summers in this area and I must say this is a place that never gets dull.
For those more adventurous it is also the best spot for diving and seeing sharks this close to the city… your choice though!
Note: Please be careful here, the barriers aren’t that great and if you go over odds are it will be the last thing you remember, ever.
